Active student participation is essential for promoting meaningful learning and developing critical thinking skills in higher education. However, many lecturers face challenges in ensuring equitable student participation during classroom discussions, as they often tend to call upon the same students while others remain passive. This practice may reduce engagement, limit learning opportunities, and create unconscious bias in classroom interaction. To address this issue, Guess Whose Turn was developed as an interactive, offline random student selection application using Microsoft PowerPoint. The primary objective of this innovation is to provide lecturers with a simple, fair, and engaging tool that ensures every student has an equal opportunity to participate in teaching and learning activities. Inspired by the concept of the Wheel of Fortune, the application randomly selects students' names through an attractive spinning wheel interface. Unlike conventional online random name generators, Guess Whose Turn operates entirely offline, requires no internet connection, and can be easily customised by lecturers without programming knowledge or additional software. The innovation enhances classroom engagement by encouraging students to remain attentive and prepared, while simultaneously improving lecturers' classroom management through unbiased student selection. The innovation has strong commercialization potential due to its low development cost, ease of customization, scalability across educational settings, and compatibility with existing Microsoft Office infrastructure. It can be distributed as a ready-to-use PowerPoint template or licensed as an educational teaching aid, offering an affordable and practical solution for institutions seeking to promote active, inclusive, and technology-enhanced learning environments.
