Introductory calculus courses, such as MAT183 (Calculus 1) at Universiti Teknologi MARA, present persistent learning barriers due to passive formula memorization, high math anxiety, low student motivation, and difficulties in structural pattern recognition across polynomial, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions. To address these challenges, UNOXDERIVATIV was developed to enhance students' engagement, reduce math anxiety, and improve conceptual understanding and procedural fluency in single-variable differentiation. The novelty of this active-learning tool lies in combining gamified learning, strategic thinking, collaborative play, and immediate feedback through a customized 112-card deck, comprising Question (Q-cards), Answer (A-cards), tactical action cards, and colorless wild cards, that adapts familiar UNO mechanics for real-time derivative matching in a low-stakes environment. Empirical evaluation revealed a statistically significant improvement in student performance, with mean assessment scores increasing from 3.53 before implementation to 5.35 afterward (p < 0.05), alongside qualitative feedback highlighting boosted conceptual mastery. UNOXDERIVATIV directly benefits society by transforming traditional, high-stress STEM learning into an interactive, confidence-building experience accessible to diverse student demographics. Furthermore, its lightweight, cost-effective, and highly scalable physical design offers strong commercialization potential for licensing and distribution across secondary schools and higher education institutions globally.
