In line with the theme “Breaking Barriers, Building the Future,” the Bread-Making Micro-Credential (MC) Course was developed to address the limitations commonly associated with traditional face-to-face baking classes. Conventional baking classes are often constrained by geographical location, high participation costs, rigid schedules, and limited accessibility for individuals with busy lifestyles or those residing in remote areas. In addition, beginners frequently face challenges in mastering essential bread-making techniques such as kneading, fermentation, proofing, and baking without adequate guidance and continuous practice. To break these barriers, the Bread-Making MC Course leverages the UFuture digital learning platform to provide an accessible, flexible, and learner-centred educational experience. The course offers comprehensive learning materials, including video demonstrations, interactive modules, and detailed recipes that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, learners gain an understanding of the scientific principles of bread production while developing hands-on baking competencies. Through its flexible and self-paced approach, the course accommodates learners of different backgrounds and skill levels, enabling greater participation in culinary education. Ultimately, this initiative contributes to building the future of lifelong learning by empowering individuals with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills through innovative digital education. The Bread-Making MC Course demonstrates how technology-enhanced micro-credentials can promote inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready learning opportunities in the baking and food industry. Upon successful completion, participants are awarded a micro-credential certificate, validating their knowledge and practical competencies in bread making.
