Pixel After Hours is an interactive digital advocacy and knowledge-sharing program developed by Studio 1713 from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau under the Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM) initiative to promote responsible digital citizenship among youth. With the increasing trend of digital communication, online gaming, and live-streaming, many users are still oblivious to the legal and ethical consequences of their actions online. As such, there is a need for an innovative digital law education program that will engage learners in the learning process. The program was designed to provide knowledge on the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, promote ethical digital communication, develop critical thinking, and promote safe digital practices. The uniqueness of the project is in the integration of digital law education with modern digital culture through professional live streaming in OBS Studio, game-based learning, and industry sharing by a professional e-sports athlete. The virtual program Pixel After Hours was conducted on Google Meet and successfully involved Form 6 students from Johor and Sabah, proving the potential of the project to reach learners in other geographical locations. Learners have acquired knowledge about digital ethics, cyber safety, and responsibilities, promoting the formation of ethical and responsible digital citizens. In addition to its educational value, Pixel After Hours can be considered commercially valuable due to the successful collaboration with a brand and its scalable nature that allows future collaborations with organizations in technology, telecommunications, gaming, education, and digital media. The program presents a sustainable and replicable framework for advancing digital literacy and cyber ethics education while strengthening university-community engagement.
