Digital learning has become an important part of teaching and learning, but students may still experience online activities as separate tasks such as reading notes, watching videos, exploring websites, or completing games. To create a more connected and engaging learning experience, GeoCA Learn–Explore–Play was developed as an integrated digital teaching aid that combines multimedia learning materials, 360° Google Earth virtual exploration, and educational games within one online environment. The innovation applies a simple three-stage approach in which students first Learn through notes and multimedia resources, explore destinations virtually through 360° Google Earth, and play educational games to reinforce their understanding. Its novelty lies in connecting these three learning experiences rather than using each digital tool separately. Student feedback showed positive responses towards the GeoCA games, with respondents indicating that the activities helped them understand and remember geographical facts and provided an enjoyable learning experience. Feedback on the Google Earth component also showed that students found virtual exploration useful, easy to understand, and helpful in visualising destinations studied in class. GeoCA supports interactive, student-centred and flexible learning while providing educators with a reusable digital teaching resource. Although initially developed for geography, culture and tourism related learning, the Learn–Explore–Play approach can be adapted to other subjects and educational settings, with potential for wider institutional adoption, customised learning packages and educational collaborations.
