In recent years, student entrepreneurs have increasingly faced financial management challenges due to limited financial literacy, weak budgeting skills and reliance on manual record-keeping methods. The Ringgit Effect App: Smart Budgeting for Student SMEs is an innovative Application-as-a-Service (AaaS) solution developed to address these financial management challenges. Traditional record-keeping practices often lead to inaccurate financial reports and difficulties in monitoring cash flow. As a result, poor financial management can negatively affect business performance, profitability and long-term sustainability. Although various financial management applications are available, many are designed for established businesses and include complex features that do not meet the needs of student owned small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The application enables students to record daily business transactions, monitor income and expenses, track cash flow, generate financial reports and evaluate business performance through a mobile-first interface. The commercialization potential of The Ringgit Effect App is significant due to the increasing number of student entrepreneurs in universities and higher education institutions. Its scalable cloud-based platform supports broad implementation, while widespread smartphone usage ensures accessibility anytime and anywhere. In the future, the application is expected to empower student entrepreneurs to manage their businesses more effectively, improve financial decision-making and build the confidence required to succeed in an increasingly competitive entrepreneurial environment.
