Teaching Fiqh Muamalat (Islamic Finance) in higher education presents a significant pedagogical challenge due to the high density of abstract Shariah jurisprudence and intricate operational procedures. Traditional lecture-based approaches often create an "abstraction gap", leaving students overburdened by cognitive load and unable to visualize the chronological steps required for practical contract structuring. To address this, "Islamic Finance Puzzle Quest" was developed for the Islamic Financial System course (IMU256) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) to enhance student engagement and conceptual retention. The application’s core novelty features an AI-augmented (Gemini Pro 3.1) dual-loop learning architecture: a 60-second timed "Conceptual Match" loop for rapid scenario recognition, and 15 interactive drag-and-drop "Product Structuring" flowchart puzzles supported by reactive pedagogical avatars and scaffolded AI hints. Empirically evaluated across 109 Diploma in Muamalat students, the innovation achieved high satisfaction across Motivation and Reward Economy (M = 4.33/5, 91% agreement), Learning Effectiveness (M = 4.29/5, 92% agreement), Game Mechanics (M = 4.23/5, 89% agreement) and Social Presence and UX (M = 4.23/5, 87% agreement) with parametric and non-parametric tests confirming statistical validity across campuses (p > .05). The primary societal benefit lies in democratizing complex religious-professional education, transforming intangible transaction rules into intuitive mental schemas for future Shariah practitioners. Furthermore, the application possesses significant commercialization potential as a white-label SaaS platform for university curricula, corporate onboarding in Islamic financial institutions, and professional Shariah compliance training modules globally.
