Many ESL learners find it difficult to understand and organise text structures, which affects their confidence and results in producing weak writing. The GLP Framework (Guided Learning through Padlet) was developed as an innovative, evidence-based instructional framework based on published qualitative research guided by Vygotsky’s Social Constructivist Theory. The research explored learners’ experiences and perceptions of using Padlet to understand text structures. Findings revealed that collaborative learning through Padlet enhanced students’ understanding of text organisation, promoted active participation, strengthened peer interaction, increased motivation, and improved writing confidence. The study also highlighted the importance of teacher scaffolding and structured learning activities in supporting meaningful knowledge construction. Building upon these findings, the GLP Framework was designed to transform Padlet into a systematic instructional innovation rather than merely a digital learning platform. The framework comprises six structured learning phases supported by comprehensive lesson plans, ready-to-use Padlet templates, student learning modules, assessment rubrics, and implementation guides that enable effective classroom practice across face-to-face, blended, and online learning environments. The innovation is adaptable for various ESL writing genres and proficiency levels while requiring minimal implementation cost. Its novelty lies in integrating collaborative learning, teacher scaffolding, and digital technology into a structured pedagogical framework supported by empirical evidence. By translating research findings into a practical teaching solution, the GLP Framework offers educators an effective approach to improving students’ mastery of text structures, fostering collaborative learning, and supporting digital transformation in language education, with strong potential for adoption across schools, colleges, and universities.
