Teaching in early childhood education often focuses on the fundamentals of language and vocabulary, however, this project explores the basics of literature through character, setting and theme in a fun, easy-to-understand digital format. The project aims to present fundamental literary concepts to pre-school learners through short, interactive, educational videos. The project combines digital storytelling, rich visuals, and minimal narration to connect early literacy and literary appreciation. Three important design features are used: simplification of the content, visual engagement, and repetition, questions and physical gestures involving the child. The framework is based on early childhood pedagogy, multimodal learning, and basic narratology, and is a way to translate academic literature principles into child-friendly digital products. The engagement, comprehension, and participation of 18 preschool children (ages 4–6) were found to be high in a pilot screening, and teachers provided qualitative feedback. The results indicate the effectiveness of interactive videos as a supplementary tool in early childhood education. Therefore, this project provides parents and educators with accessible and age-appropriate educational content through media, raising awareness of the value of literature from an early age and helping children enjoy themselves on screen, thereby benefiting early literacy development in the community.
